Patricia Ann Amos, 79, of Parkersburg passed away peacefully in her home April 21, 2024. She was born June 6, 1944 in Clay County, WV to the late George and Phyllis Reed Tanner.
She is a 1961 graduate of Carthage-Troy High School in Coolville, Ohio. She received her RN degree from WVUP, and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from WVU. She retired as a psychiatric nurse practitioner with a 47-year career as a nurse. She is a member of Good Shephard Episcopal Church and attended Trinity Episcopal Church. She loved her family and cherished her pets. She also enjoyed writing poetry, cooking, gardening, and vacationing at the beach.
Left to cherish her memory include her son, James Amos (Laura) of Mineral Wells; siblings, Ledra Tanner of Belpre, OH, Melinda Foss of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Farris and June Tanner both of Coolville, OH, Lisa Tanner of Guysville, OH, Ed Tanner of San Antonio, TX, Robert Tanner of Guysville, OH, and Kevin Tanner of Coolville, OH; her grandchildren, Katy Reifsteck (Dylan) and Kelly Amos both of Mineral Wells; her great-granddaughter, Vanessa Reifsteck; and several special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Lori A. Amos; her niece, Tonya Tanner Wynn; and her nephew, Steven Yeater.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at the funeral home.
