Oval Jennings “OJ” Barker, Jr., 63, of Davisville, W.Va., passed away at his residence on June 24, 2011.He was born November 19, 1947, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of Oval Jennings Barker, Sr. and Sarah Rinehart Barker of Davisville,W.Va.OJ retired after 35 years of service from Singer's Sheet Metal as a sheet metal mechanic; he was an avid NASCAR enthusiast, member of the Good Guys Hot Rod Association, the NRA, and a well known homemade wine maker. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Sue Hendricks Barker; one daughter, Amy Villers of Weston, W.Va.; one son, Kevin (Michelle) Barker of Parkersburg, W.Va.;three grandchildren, Kyle Anthony Barker,Kia Rene Villers, and Sydney Janea Barker; one sister, Beverly (Roger) Rinard of Rinards Mill, Ohio; two brothers, David (Pat) Barker and Tim Barker all of Parkersburg, W.Va; and his beloved sidekick, Scooter.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Brian Long officiating.Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
