O. Ellen Ferrell

O. Ellen Osborn Cowan Ferrell passed away on Sept. 7, 2014 after a short illness.She was born in Clay Co., W.Va., the daughter of Ernest F. and Pearl Young Cart.Ellen was a graduate of Magnolia High School in New Martinsville, W.Va. and was a registered nurse at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.She had worked for Dr. A. Morgan-Dearman, Dr. Richard Corbitt and Dr. Paul McCusky.She was a member of White Shrine #4, Order of Eastern Star Parkersburg Chapter #14, American Legion Auxiliary and a member of Broadway Baptist Church.She is survived by one brother, John E. Cart of Martinsville, Va.; three sons, Arthur “Skeet” Osborn and his wife, Connie of North Carolina, James W. Cowan and his wife, Janet of Parkersburg, and David E. Cowan and his wife, Marilyn of Florida; four grandsons; three granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands; and one brother, Ernest F. Cart Jr.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg.Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
