Mildred A. Jackson, 88, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away September 10, 2013 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.She was born September 9, 1925, in Boone Co., W.Va., the daughter of the late George W. Packett and Pearl H. Scyoc Packett. In 1944, she married her high school sweetheart, Donald C. Jackson, who preceded her in death in 2000.She was a member of the Gihon United Methodist Church and was a golfer and bowler earlier in her life. She had been a volunteer with the American Red Cross Blood Center and had been a deliverer of meals for the Meals-on-Wheels program. She had worked in the Wood County Tax Office prior to her retirement.She is survived by three sons, Rev. Larry D. (Jean) Jackson of Parkersburg, W.Va., Phillip S. (Cathy) Jackson and Paul E. (Rose) Jackson, both of Belleville, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Matthew (Jody) Jackson of Washington, W.Va., Christopher Jackson of Lausanne, Switzerland, Dixi (Trevor) Gathman of Belleville, and Rebekah Jackson of Weirton, W.Va; six great-grandchildren, Gannon, Ryan, Miah, Anna, Jordyn and Hollie; one sister, Lorraine Knecht of Inverness, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; one sister, Alma Margaret Nelson; and a grandson, Jeremiah Jackson.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor James Eakle officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery.Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.Thursday at the funeral home.
