Michael D. Poe, 46, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Nov. 25, 2011, at his home. He was born Nov. 28, 1964, in Elkins, W.Va., a son of Tommie F. Poe of Elkins and Clara Dowler Huglin of Parkersburg. Michael was formerly employed with PS Project as a driver. He was very active in the Market Manor Men's Club. He enjoyed fishing, football, wrestling, and especially playing cards. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and WVU Mountaineers fan. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Robin F. Huglin; his daughter, Elizabeth Poe-Parrish of Parkersburg, W.Va.; his son, Michael James “Jamie” Poe of Parkersburg, W.Va.; his companion of 10 years, Geraldine Minks; two grandchildren, Natalie Marie Parrish and Elijah Ian Morlan, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; six sisters, Brenda Windland (Gary) of Ravenswood, W.Va., Betty Balderson (Buster) of Washington, W.Va., Cindy Teters (David) of Walker, W.Va., Clara “Kay” Toney of Vass, N.C., Sarah Blosser (Rick) of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Mary Abel (Michael) of Ripley, W.Va.; four brothers, Tommie Poe (Tiena) of Brohard, W.Va., James Huglin (Carrie) of Beverly, Ohio, and Ricky Poe (Sarah) and Timmy Poe, both of Elkins, W.Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Richard Long and Pastor Ryan Ice officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
