Merna Charlene Shultz

Merna Charlene Shultz, 95, of Parkersburg passed away peacefully at home with loved ones on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. She was born January 26, 1930 in Parkersburg, a daughter to the late Richard and Clara Ward Wise.

She was a 1948 graduate of Parkersburg High School and was a member of the Lynn Street Church of Christ. She helped her husband in the auction business for 27 years. She and Jack had ten foster children over the years, and owned a farm where they raised sheep. She enjoyed reading her Bible and western books, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and playing dominoes. Merna loved her Lord, her family, and her friends. She will be missed dearly.

She is survived by three sons, Roger Shultz (Jean) and Delmer Shultz (Jodi) of Pomeroy, OH, and Kelly Shultz (Mary Beth) of Mineral Wells; two daughters, Elaine Tucker of Washington, WV and Sherri Davis of Elizabeth; three grandsons, David and Brian Shultz, and Evan George; eight granddaughters, Laura Alban, Gloria Tucker, Brooke Nichols, Kristen Butler, Kara McAtee, Allison Daggett, Zoe Bookman, and Emily Boston; and a foster daughter, April Hubbard; twenty great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Rae Scyoc (Earl);  many Ward cousins; and handyman, Greg Moser

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Harold “Jack” Shultz, and their son Randy Shultz; a son-in-law, Jim Tucker; her brother, Roland “Bud” Wise; and two sisters, Iva Nelson and Anne Parks.

A funeral service will be 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Pike. St., South Parkersburg. Family will allow visitors from 2 -4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
