Melvin Earl Ellison ,75, of Parkersburg, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord, June 8, 2012 at Ohio Valley Health Care.He was born in Wirt County, W.Va., a son of the late Emery Ellsworth and Hazel Virginia Fought Ellison. Melvin was a computer operator for Public Debt and retired from there in 1998. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #82 of Wirt County, and was an avid bowler.Melvin is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Connie Ellison; a daughter, Tammy (Ed) Lawson of Mineral Wells, W.Va.,; and two step-daughters, Loretta Smith of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Angela (Scott) Worstell of Marietta, Ohio; three sons, Tim (Vicky) Ellison, Dwight Ellison and Kevin Ellison all of Elizabeth, W.Va.; one step-son, Jerry (Ellen) Logston of Washington, W.Va.; one sister, Betty Hall of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and two brothers, Joe (Ruth) Ellison of Palestine, W.Va., and Carl (Linda) Ellison of Elizabeth, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Devan Ellison, Megan Ellison, Brian Kirl (Jenny), Tara Pierce (Matt), Zack Ellison (Amanda), Brandy Ellison and Liza Ellison; three step-grandchildren, Laura Mace, John Mace and Tyler Roberts; and nine great-grandchildren, Morgan and Nick Kirl, and Madison Miskosky, who made him watch cartoons and take her to the Dollar Tree, also Rhyleigh Archer, Elijah, Evan, Zackary, Jacob, andMalaki Ellison; and special friends, Tim and Teresa McClung.In addition to his parents Melvin was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Harold. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, W.Va. Internment will follow at the Fought-Bailey Farm in Newark, W.Va. The family will recieve friends Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.The family would like to thank the Staff of Ohio Valley Health Care for their care and kindness.
