Megan Anne Abrahamson, 30, and her soon to be born son, River of Williamstown, WV passed on January 20th at WVU-CCMH. Megan was born on March 20, 1990 in St. Charles IL. She was a graduate of Williamstown High School, Carrington College and was a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist. Her plans after the baby’s birth included finishing the last semester of her B.A., and serving the recovery community. Megan is survived by her Mother, Gayle McCormick of Williamstown, a brother, Andrew McGuffey of Williamstown; Father, Scott (Tracy) Abrahamson of Florida and brothers, Tom and Matt and Chris, her grandfather, Neil Abrahamson also of Florida.; Special boyfriend and father of River, Clayton Dillon; Uncle Patrick McCormick of Alabama, cousins, Madison (Sean) McCloskey, Marina and Mac McCormick and Great-Uncle Roy Deemer of Minford Ohio and many close friends. Megan enjoyed the arts, was a very talented painter. Megan was a light in the darkness of addiction, even as she battled her own demons, she was always there to help another person stay clean and alive. Megan was so happy during the 4 days prior to her death. She was planning for the baby, spending time shopping with her mom and will be so missed by many people. Megan was preceded in death by her maternal Grandmother Inez McCormick, her Grandfather Col. William McCormick and her paternal grandmother Lois Lee. Megan’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be a public service Wednesday at the Cross Church in Parkersburg, Wednesday, January 27th at 4:00 pm. There will be a Celebration of Megan’s life at the Eagles in Williamstown, WV from Noon – 6:00 on Saturday, Jan.30th.
