Mead Meredith Chancey Jr., age 85 of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the Willows Nursing Center. He was born August 19, 1926 in Ravenswood, W.Va., a son of the late Mead M. and Mabel G. Warfield Chancey. Mead was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in World War II. He was retired from E.I. DuPont where he was a supervisor; was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the American Legion Post 15.Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Edith Turley Chancey; one son, Jeffrey Chancey and wife, Sherri of Belpre, Ohio; one daughter, Darlene Church and husband, Joseph of Coolville, Ohio; two sisters, Norma Jones of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Naomi Brown of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Luke and Crystal Chancey.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Jim Yoak officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full Masonic rites. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Saturday at the funeral home.The family would like to thank the staff at the Willows Nursing Facility and Dr. Brian Powderly for all their care and support.
