Mavis Jane Douglas

Mavis Jane Douglas, 78, of Parkersburg, passed away on May 27, 2024 at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born December 29, 1945, a daughter of the late D. Paul and Opal Hamrick Hickman.

She had previously worked at Rendor Lanes and was a manager at Gabriel Brothers Department Store, and was a member of the Word of God Ministries. She loved sewing, watching westerns, and listening to music. She loved her family dearly, and enjoyed spending time with them.

She leaves behind three children, David Franklin Douglas Jr (Shelly) of Washington, WV, Tammy Lea Styer of Parkersburg, and Thomas Paul Douglas of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, David Douglas III, Jake Douglas (Cheyanne), Maddie Douglas, and Kelly Jane Welch (Jacob); a great-grandson, Axton Lee Douglas; and a sister, Silvia Hickman.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, David Franklin “Frank” Douglas Sr.; and siblings, Delmas Hickman, Elmer Hickman, Gloria Villers, and Edith Ryan.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, May 31, 2024, at the Orlando Cemetery, Lewis County, WV.
