Marilyn Jean Yates

Marilyn Jean Yates 67 of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility.She was born February 5, 1946 in Fairmont, WV, a daughter of the late Emerson E. and June A. Haught Canary. Marilyn was retired from Big Lots Store and had previously worked at Heck's Department Store and worked for Paul Blizzard. She loved horses, drawing, cake decorating, and enjoyed her family and grandchildren.She is survived by her children, Christy J. Yates of PA, William “Bill” Yates III and wife Tara of Mineral Wells, WV, and Douglas B. Yates of Warrensburg, MO; one sister, Charlene J. Dennewitz of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Christopher Yates, Phoenyx Yates, Violajune Yates, and Kyauna Yates; nephew, Brian Dennewitz and wife Tina of Parkersburg and other nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Canary.Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 15, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Rod Blanchard officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
