Marie E. Lockhart Floyd, 63, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Oct. 9, 2012 after an extended illness.She was born May 26, 1949, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Carl C. and Thelma Gail Low Lockhart.Marie was a homemaker and in her earlier years she worked for the Wilmar as a waitress and also at Presto Lunch where she met her husband of 34 years. She worked at the Country Club for a period of time also. She was a member of the Lowdell United Methodist Church in Rockport, W.Va. but also attended Bethany United Methodist Church after her move to Parkersburg. Marie loved working for her church, doing anything she could do to help with children programs, and being involved with the Friendship Kitchen and her friends. Marie was a great collector of salt and pepper shakers, and geese figurines.She was the loving wife of Robert M. Floyd; mother of two daughters, Jennyfer M. Perez and Alicia D. Floyd; and three grandsons, Chance, Xander and Ayden Perez. She also leaves behind four sisters, Margaret Ann (Vernon) Benson, Carla (Paul) Harvey, Barbara Lockhart and Vera Archer; and several nieces and nephews. Marie will be missed by her family and her friends.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-son, Brian Floyd; her brother, Kenny Lockhart; her mother-in-law, Grace Floyd; her sister-in-law, Alice Floyd; and her brother-in-law, Dean Archer.Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Lowdell United Methodist Church, Rockport, W.Va. with Pastor Mike Broadwater officiating. Interment will follow at Pond Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the church.
