Lucy Marie Riggs

Lucy Marie Riggs, 89, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Wyngate Senior Living Center, Vienna. She was born November 11, 1923 at Eureka, W.Va., the daughter of the late Fred and Myrtle Barnes Dearth. Shewas a 1941 graduate of St Mary's High School and a homemaker. She was a member of Wayside United Methodist Church of Vienna, the United Methodist Women, the Ruth Fellowship and the Parkersburg Chapter #14 Eastern Star. Lucy is survived by her good friend and caregiver, Nathaniel “Nat” Ayre of Vienna, W.Va.; one niece, Carmen Shepler of Sailsbury, NC; and one nephew, Ted Thompson of St. Mary's, W.Va.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd A. Riggs, whom she married March 12, 1947.A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va. with Rev. Sandy Runion officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 10:00 – Noon at the funeral home.The family requests that donations be made to the Good Samaritan Center of the Wayside United Methodist Church, 3001 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va. 26105 in Lucy's memory.
