Lucy Marie Cook

Lucy Marie Holtz Cook, 83 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 at her residence.She was born August 9, 1929 in Wood County, WV, a daughter of the late Frank C. and Lola R. Gray Holtz. Lucy had worked at Arlington Nursing Home, Parkersburg Doctor's Care and was a homemaker. She enjoyed working with her flowers and being in the outdoors. She was Baptist by faith.She is survived by her children, Samuel A. Cook, Jr. and wife, Elsie of Pettyville, W.Va., Danny Cook and wife, Doris of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Shonia Balderson and husband, David of Parkersburg, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel “Archie” Cook; her daughter, Joyce Ann Cook; her son, William “Randy” Cook; five sisters, her twin Mary Elizabeth Holtz, Alice Hardesty, Virginia McDonald, Mildred Hurst, and Frances Foglesong; and two brothers, William and Frank Holtz.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Evangelist Randy Yerby officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. The family request that donations be made to the Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department.
