Loran A. (Larry) Bartlett 76, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away November 11, 2013 at his residence.He was born in Springdale, Pa. on July 27, 1937, a son of the late Loran and Lucy Lamm Bartlett.Larry lived in Vienna, W.Va. in his childhood, attending Neal School and graduating from Parkersburg High School with the Class of 1955. After graduation he moved with his family to Boulder, Co. where he graduated with aMasters of Fine Arts degree from Colorado University. He went on to Tulane University in New Orleans, La. graduating with a degree in Journalism. For the next four decades he lived in New York and Louisiana while pursuing different occupations, including a writer for Times-Picayune, art instructor, an adult-education instructor and worked in a college public-relations department and also as a grade school teacher in Brooklyn, NY.He retired to Parkersburg, W.Va. in 1994 and devoted his time to enjoying his art projects. Larry created many rock sculptures that decorated his lawn. He also wrote for the Goldenseal Magazine about many of his ancestors in Ritchie County, W.Va. Larry is survived by his brother, Ed (Geri) Bartlett and sister, Gwen Bartlett (John) Zimmerman along with several nieces and nephews and many close friends and neighbors.As per Larry's wishes there will be aMemorialService at the cemetery to be announced at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Lambert-Tatman Funeral and Cremation Services, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va.A burial service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday November 23, 2013, at the Old Masonic Cemetery in Ellenboro, WV. (Ritchie County).
