LaVaughn Wolverton-Kellow Tackett of Belpre, Ohio passed away Oct. 28, 2014 at Camden Clark Medical Center.She was born in Grove, Doddridge County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Thurman and Nancy V. Simpson Spurgeon.LaVaughan retired as a lifetime educator, having served forty-four years as a teacher and principal in the Doddridge and Wood County School Systems. She also had worked as a teacher's aide in the Belpre Schools. She was a member of the James A. Wood D.A.R., the Order of the Eastern Star of both West Union, W.Va. and Belpre, Ohio, P.T.A., the Retired Teachers Association, Ladies Shrine, and also the Belpre Senior Citizens Association. She was also a member of the Pioneer Presbyterian Church of Belpre, Ohio.LaVaughn is survived by several cousins.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd C. Wolverton; her second husband, Dr. Keith Kellow; and her third husband, Ferrell Tackett.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd. Belpre, Ohio with Pastor Rick Hastings officiating. Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery at Crystal Lake, West Union, W.Va. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
