Link is below.Click Here To View Memorial VideoLaura “Jean” Edman Adkins, 82, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on June 6, 2013 at Carehaven of Pleasants in Belmont, W.Va.She was born Aug. 8, 1930, in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Olen M. and Pearl O. Hamilton Edman.Jean was a graduate of Parkersburg High School with the class of 1948. She had previously worked as a medical secretary for the late Dr. Thomas L. Harris at St. Joseph's Hospital, medical transcriber for Stantan Clinic, University of Pittsburgh, designer for Rural Arts and Crafts, Parkersburg, owner of Jean's Things and a craft artisan displaying exhibits at local fairs and festivals throughout W.Va. and Ohio. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of Postal Workers and South Parkersburg Baptist Church.She is survived by two sons, John (Connie) Adkins and Robert (Brenda) Adkins, both of Williamstown, W.Va.; six daughters, Judy (John) Staats of Summersville, W.Va., Carol Sue Adkins ofParkersburg, W.Va., Mary (Dave) Sheppard of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Betty Pullin of South Charleston, W.Va., Jane (Roger) Reynolds of Vienna, W.Va. and Charlotte (Joe) Adkins of Reedsville, OH; two sisters, Esther Maxine Utterback of Georgetown, Ind. and Audra M. Hively of Parkersburg, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Adkins; two grandsons, Richie and Robert Adkins II; sister, Betty Schoolcraft; and brothers, James Edman and Franklin Buck Edman. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, Parkersburg, W.Va. with the Rev. Joe Busch officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
