Karen Elaine Sparks Patterson, 63 of Davisville, W.Va. joined her mother and youngest daughter in Heaven, March 12, 2013.She was born May 26, 1949 in St. Mary's, W.Va. the daughter of the late Bernice Sparks.She was a 1967 graduate of Parkersburg High School, a 1969 graduate of Mountain State College and attended WVU-P. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church at Deerwalk. She was a former employee of Renmar Mfg. Corp, Empire foods Inc., IBEW, Winans, Christian Victoria and Life Line Ambulance Service.She was a member of the Pleasant Hill CEOS (formerly, Extension Homemakers), former Cub Scout Den Mother of pack 124 and Boy Scout Assistance Leader Troop 124. Karen volunteered at Ritchie County EMS as well as Deerwalk Volunteer Fire Dept. and the ladies auxiliary. She also helped with the quilts for Volcano Days.She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Victor Lee Patterson; a son, Anthony C.Patterson of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a daughter, Vicki Leah Patterson of Davisville, W.Va.; two grandsons, Gabriel Clay and Hunter Greathouse; and a granddaughter, Heaven Clay. Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Sparks on Dec. 4, 009; her youngest daughter, Angela Dawn Patterson Greathouse; as well as aunts and uncles.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Tom McQuain, Pastor Doug Guinn, and Pastor Brady Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery (Old German Lutheran Church) in Deerwalk. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and two hours prior to services.
