Karen Parsons

May 31, 1950 — May 22, 2012

Karen started her journey in life on May 31, 1950, Wood County, youngest daughter of Eva E. (Stutler) and the late Oral Strother of Vienna. Her primary journey in life was living, cancer secondary. The victory was won through her Lord Jesus Christ and has gone to rest in His, Sweet, Loving Arms on May 22, 2012.She was a member of the 19th. St. Church of God, was an avid flower gardener, hand stitched 20 quilts for her whole family during the last part of her journey. She loved life, God, family and friends and never met a stranger. During her working years she was employed by Parkersburg Neurological Associates, First Settlement Orthopaedics, Dr. Joel Whitaker, Camden Clark and St. Joseph Hospitals. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Lin Parsons, who stood beside her during this part of her journey. She is also survived by her loving and caring sisters, Marsha K. Strother, Parkersburg, Andra LCurfman and Glen Rackamara, and Jane Rieder of Vienna. Her long time friend and father of their children Spencer K. Robinson of Vienna and his sister Suzi Taylor. Karen was thankful to God for entrusting her with the care of her four wonderful, loving children, Kristian A. Robinson, Vienna, Dustin (Patti) Robinson, New Jersey, Melissa E. (Chris) Jones, Breanna N. Robinson all of Vienna. She has nine beautiful grandchildren she loved and adored; Chloe'and Eliza Robinson, Morgantown, Ryan, Abbie, Emilie & Sierra Jones, Wesley Robinson & Avrie Frush all of Vienna, & Brynn Robinson of New Jersey. A very special niece, her surrogate daughter, Stacie (Mike) Davis of Vienna, Nephews; Todd Curfman of Utah, Greg Curfman of California, Shane (Alicia) Curfman of Washington State, Brett Rieder of California and several great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and hundreds of cousins. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Amy Duskey Stutler, Benson Guy & Gerri Stutler, Charles W. & Ada M. Strother, and several aunts, uncles & cousins. So in closing, life is a journey one must make if they enter in-but in leaving this earthly journey, a new better journey begins without sickness or tears but only eternal joy, forever- so don't weep for me. I am truly at rest.Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna with Pastor Randall Fuson officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
