Joseph Clemens Tuttle, 86, of Reedsville, Ohio, passed away Nov. 15, 2013, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.He was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Otha and Lyda Atkinson Tuttle.Joseph was an Air Force, 21st Airborne veteran having served in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a retired brick mason and enjoyed construction and building homes. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, watching westerns and was a member of Whites Chapel Church.Surviving is his wife of 28 years, Doris Streight Tuttle; his seven children, Gary W. Tuttle (Elizabeth J.), Linda Poynter (Steve) and Jennifer Morris (Jerry), all of St. Marys, W.Va., Deborah Cain (Randy) of Cutler, Ohio, Jackie Schofield (Dennis) of Ohio, Joseph C. Tuttle Jr. (Shelly) of Concord, N.C., and Bobbie Jo Cokeley (Ronald) of St. Marys; seven stepchildren, Glen Streight (Sherry) of St. Marys, Charles Streight (Debbie) of Marietta, David McBrayer (Eva) and Clayton McBrayer (Karen), all of St. Marys, Barbara McBrayer of Reedsville, Terry Piggott of Munday, W.Va., and Donna Yoho (Larry) of Coolville, Ohio; three sisters, Patty Lou Cowan and Juanita Hyde, both of Parkersburg, and Lena Whitehead of Marietta, Ohio; one aunt, Betty Lou Wells of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; 21 grandchildren; 23 step-grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 28 step-great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Emma Jean Baker and Wilda June Moore.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with the Rev. Charles Martindale officiating and full military rites by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Interment will follow at Harper Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, and two hours prior to the services Tuesday at the funeral home.
