Joseph Lawrence Amos, 56, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away June 18, 2011. He was an alumnus of Parkersburg High School class of 1973, and he received a full tennis scholarship to West Liberty State College where he graduated as a business major in 1977.Joseph was self-employed as an investment broker and also enjoyed golfing. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Surviving are two sons, Joseph L. Amos Jr. and Charles Edward Amos II, both of Charleston, W.Va.; two sisters, Mary Ellen Williams (James) of Richmond, VA, and Ann Tucker (Joe) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and two brothers, James E. Amos of Beckley, W.Va., and Jeffrey M. Amos (Barbara) of Vienna, W.Va. Joseph was preceded in death by his loving mother Jean Richardson Amos and father Charles Edward Amos; his brother, Charles Michael Amos; and two infant sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:30PM on Tuesday June 21, 2011 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va., with Father Joseph Peterson as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1PM until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
