Johnnie M. Brookover, Sr.Johnnie M. Brookover, Sr., 68, of Williamstown, W.Va., passed away on April 1, 2011 at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.He was born January 24, 1943, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late John Irvin and Laura Lauderman Brookover.Johnnie retired from the Wood County Airport as Chief Operator after 33 years of service.He enjoyed working on cars and lawn tractors, riding 4-wheelers especially his side by side, and attending car shows.He also enjoyed carpentry.He is survived by his wife of 48 1/2 years, Joyce R. Lynch Brookover; one daughter, Julie (Andy) Holpp of Williamstown; two sons, Johnny M. (Crystal) Brookover, Jr. of Marietta, Ohio and Jeff Brookover of Williamstown; three sisters, Shirley Todd of Waverly, W.Va., Sue Blouir of St. Marys, W.Va., and Nancy Eagle of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; three brothers, Chester Brookover of West Union, W.Va., Sam Brookover of Williamstown, and Fred Brookover of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Joshua, Jonna, Brianna and Santanna; one great-grandson, Zander; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Irvin Jr., Archie and David Brookover.Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Ken Calebaugh officiating.Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
