John Bruce Holbert

John Bruce Holbert, 63, of South Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on April 15, 2014 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.He was born May 12, 1950, in Atlanta, Ga., a son of Mildred “Lucy” Smith Holbert of Parkersburg and the late Carol M. Holbert.John was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and served in Vietnam. He was a self-employed contractor and enjoyed fishing.In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Bethany Holbert of Roanoke, Va.; three sisters, Debbie Conrad, Teresa Nuzum and Mary Joann Bennett all of Parkersburg; three brothers, Kenneth Holbert and Dan Holbert of Parkersburg and Raymond Holbert of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Shane Holbert and Kayla Holbert of Roanoke, Va.; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Holbert.Memorial services will be held 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Hope Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Bud Corbin officiating. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
