John Andy Fury, 61, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away peacefully May 10, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.He was born Nov. 4, 1951, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late William Otis and Bessie Beulah Gates Fury.John was a retired pipefitter and was known as the “Gentle Giant”. He was a friend to everyone. He was a member of Calvary Mission Church.He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandra McVey Fury; four children, Brenita Holberton (Tommy), Kimberly (the late Mark Didlake), Curtiss (Pam) Fury and Michelle (John) Davis; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Heather, Jordan, Tiffaney, Serena, Morgan, Sierra, Chase and Ashley; three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholis and Lucas; two sisters, Gloria Jean (the late Carl Bailey) and Irene; four brothers, William (Mary), Robert (Betty), Jack (Carolyn) and Frank; and his beloved dog, Angelina.In addition to his loving parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Tom; and one sister, Beulah.Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Calvary Mission Church with Pastor Jack Brown officiating.
