John Edward Mcqueen,

To announce the passing of our loving husband and father, John Edward McQueen Sr., 83 of Parkersburg, W.Va. who passed away October 29, 2012 at Ohio Valley Health Care.He was born May 9, 1929 in Parkersburg, the son of the late Levi J. and Gladys L. Nuzum McQueen. He was a graduate of PHS and served in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy. He served for several years in the Merchant Marines and retired from Smith's Realty as a salesman. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a member of American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg and was a lifetime member of DAV Post #32. He was a Baptist by faith.He is survived by his wife, Inez M. Lucas McQueen; a daughter, Susan Miller of Washington, W.Va.; a son, John E. McQueen Jr. and wife, Ioanna also of Washington, W.Va.; a sister, Evalena Knock of Kimble, SD; a brother, Dewey McQueen of Port Royal, VA; four grandchildren, Elias McQueen, Inez Maria McQueen, Tracy Handley, and Dawn Francis; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Frank Edward McQueen; and a sister, Betty Morlan.There will be no visitation or service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Parkersburg, W.Va.
