John Douglas Greathouse

John Douglas Greathouse, 60 of Parkersburg, W.Va. went to be with the Lord, July 18, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.He was born in Parkersburg, July 26, 1951 a son of the late Thereasa Hopkins Greathouse and Calvin Greathouse.He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sgt. from April 1972 to June 30, 1978, when he was honorably discharged.John is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cheryl L. Greathouse; his daughter, Andrea Lynn Greathouse; one grandson, Davin John Dexter Devine, all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three brothers, Charles Sonny Hopkins of MS, Richard O. Greathouse and wife, Carlene of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Gary W. Greathouse Sr of Belleville, W.Va.; one sister, Sandra I. Hamilton and husband, Larry of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim Walker, Keith Greathouse and Timothy Lee McCoy; and one sister, Patricia McIntire.Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Following services at the funeral home, a celebration of his life will continue at the family residence with full military honors presented by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg.
