Jean Cyran, 80, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away peacefully on June 23, 2011, at her home. She was born October 4, 1930, in North Tonawanda, NY, the daughter of the late Frederick Sr. and Barbara Kuhn Chetney. Jean was happily retired after being a longtime employee of the Vienna School System as a teacher's aide. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, the beach, and getting together to play cards with her friends. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Vienna. She is survived by four daughters, Deb Cyran of Vienna, W.Va., Amy Riffle (Bruce) of Vienna, W.Va., Marcia Cyran of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Val Cyran also of Vienna, W.Va.; three sons, Mark Cyran (Margie) of Houston, TX, Eric Cyran of Columbus, Ohio, and Adam Cyran of Florence, SC.; daughter-in-law, Linda Cyran of Auburn, Ind.; thirteen grandchildren, Katie VanPoppel, Libby, Michael, Jake, and Hannah Cyran, Ashley Grubb, David, Josh, and Matthew Cyran, Jessica Edwards, Megan Ostrowski, and Christopher and Jenna Cyran; four great-granchildren, Dawson, Mason, Carter, and Audrey; one sister, Joyce Zimmerman (Mel) of North Tonawanda, NY; one brother, John Chetney (Gloria) also of North Tonawanda, NY; and her beloved friends, Pat Miller and Betty Rae. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,Francis Michael Cyran in 1969; by two sons, Frank and Alan Cyran; and one brother, Frederick Chetney Jr. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2011, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with the Rev. Sandy Runnion officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
