Janet Lucille Kiddy, 76, of Washington, W.Va., died peacefully on May 9, 2012 at her son's residence where she had been residing. She was born July 3, 1935, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Forest Love and Norma Virginia Meeks Leach.Janet was a wife, parent, youth leader, and formerly employed as a secretary. She was active in local youth organizations including scouts, church, children's choir, and puppet ministry. Janet and Joe enjoyed providing bingo at local nursing homes. She was a longtime participant of the Shriners Hather Court #3 Losna Clown Unit, The Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America. She was a member of First Baptist Church and current member of the Lubeck Community Baptist Church.Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Ann Edwards, and Susan Virginia Vance (James) of Mount Royal, NJ; a son, Stephen Michael Boone (Jane) of Washington, W.Va.; a step-daughter, Jane Ellen Abbott (Richard) of Deal, Maryland; a daughter-in-law, Clara Kiddy of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a brother-in-law, Alan Wigal of Washington, W.Va.; thirteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, Joseph Blake Kiddy; sister, Kathryn Leach Wigal; step-daughter, Edith “Sparkle” Tomlinson; and two step-sons, Paul and Harvey Kiddy. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Mark Houser officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
