A Video Tribute to Jami is now available on this site.Jami Elizabeth Mathess Sams, 41, of Washington, W.Va., passed away on January 1, 2013 at her residence.She was born April 25, 1971, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of Clarence and Betty Jean Kirkpatrick Mathess of Washington, W.Va.Jami was a graduate of Parkersburg South High School with the class of 1989.She loved spending time with her daughter, Shelby, and her family.She enjoyed reading, music and watching movies.She was a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church.In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Shelby Ann Sams of Washington, W.Va.; one brother, Brian (Niki) Mathess of Washington, W.Va.; her grandfather, Clarence D. Mathess of Cox's Mills, W.Va.; nieces, Samantha Mathess and Laura Harshbarger; nephews, Brayden and Evan Mathess, and Jason (Michelle) Harshbarger and Nick (Andrea) Harshbarger; her fiancé, Gary Kelbaugh of Parkersburg; aunts and uncles, Carol (Dave) Sprigg of Harrisville, W.Va., Pat Kirkpatrick (the late Wayne) of Doylestown, Ohio, Guy (Janice) Kirkpatrick of Ashland, Ohio, Jerry (Janet) Kirkpatrick, Rising Sun, Ohio, Bob (Bev) Kirkpatrick of Barberton, Ohio, Barbara (Edsol) Talbott of Washington, W.Va., Larry (Vicki) Mathess of Hodgesville, W.Va., and Joe (Sallie) Mathess of Cox's Mill; and Shelby's father, Kevin T. Sams of Washington, W.Va.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Maxine Davis Mathess, Everett and Elizabeth Kirkpatrick.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Samuel Crawford and Pastor Ken Fullerton officiating.Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, at the funeral home.Memorial donations may be made to Fairlawn Baptist Church Preschool Learning Center, 215 Fairlawn Dr., Parkersburg, WV26101 or Lifeline of Ohio.
