James Wayne Myers

James “Jim” W. Myers, 74, of Vienna, W.Va., was called to the Heavens on October 22, 2011, at St. Josephs Campus.He was born October 14, 1937, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late Roy and Julia Headley Myers. Jim had previously been employed with the Grand Central Mall in maintenance. He also worked at Penn Metal and later retired from Bell Optical. In the 60's and early 70's he was active in the Vienna Volunteer Fire Dept. and was a member of Moose Lodge #1118. He enjoyed going to the mountains to be with his friends and family to fish or going to the family farm to hunt. He also enjoyed golfing and was an avid WVU and Big Reds fan. Jim had the biggest heart and was a very loving and giving person and will be deeply missed. Surviving is his loving wife of eighteen years, Ruth “Meme” L. Myers; four daughters, Julia Mason (Chuck), Orlena Scott (Ted), Stephanie Myers (Jim), and Millie Morgan (Jeff); two sisters, Grace Morehead and Lora Jean Jeffrey; six grandchildren, James Pratt, Scott Davis, Orlena Dillon, Sara Scott, Jeremiah Parsons, and Nathaniel Parsons; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his former wife, Martha Rebholz Myers; daughter, Martha Myers; and brother, Fred Myers. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va. with Rev. Wesley Vernatter officiating. Interment will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with funeral rites to be provided by Moose Lodge #1118 at 7:00 p.m.The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and all the staff of St. Joseph's Campus for their loving care.
