James Charles Shepard

It is with great sadness that the family of James Charles Shepard II, announce his passing after losing his battle with cancer on May 12, 2020. Jim was born January 6th 1969, in Parkersburg, WV, the son of the late James Charles Shepard of Riverside, CA and, Edna Mae Bonnett Shepard of Parkersburg, WV. He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1988, and was a proud member of the Big Red Band. After graduating from Marshall University with a degree in Criminal Justice, he spent several years volunteering with the Wood County Rescue and enjoyed serving others. Jim was a great brother to his siblings, John Shepard (Stephanie) of Vienna, WV; Jima Dunlap (Paul) of Roy, WA, Sandra Burdette (Ed) of Charleston, WV, and Coleen Swafford (Bill) of Allen, TX, and several nieces and nephews. Jim was kind and generous to all of his friends and will be sorely missed. The family would like to thank Jim’s best friend Brian Kessel for all of his support. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 16, 2020 Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home , 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, with Reverend Sara Lamb officiating. Burial will follow the service at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00-1:00 P.M. prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Jim’s name.
