James W. Robinson, 78, of Parkersburg left his temporary home in exchange for his eternal one in heaven on Good Friday, March 29, 2013. Known by many names including: Dad, Grandpa, Jimmy and Uncle Jim, Jiggs.James was born Dec. 31, 1934 in St. Albans, W.Va., a son of the late, Isaac A. and Gladine J. Waldon Robinson. He graduated from Garnett High School in 1952. And attended the West Virginia State Barber College where he became a licensed barber.In 1957, he moved to Parkersburg with his wife, MaryElizabeth Jones, where they had his only child, Janiece and he began a 56 year barber career.He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth, daughter, Janiece Thompson, Charleston, W.Va. three grandsons, Brandon Thomas, New York, NY; De'Metrius and Devon Thompson, Huntington, W.Va. his one sister Dolores Dollieo Dumas, Dunbar, W.Va; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Isaac A. and Bobby L. Robinson. Services will be held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, Friday April 5, 2013 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Bobby L. Robinson Jr. officiating and guest speaker Pastor Nancy Jones,with burial to follow at Evergreen North Cemetery, Parkersburg. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday at 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
