Irene G. Sheppard

Irene G. Sheppard, 83 of Davisville, W.Va. passed away July 12, 2012 at her residence. She was born June 10, 1929 in Braxton County, W.Va. a daughter of the late James and Oma White Benear.She previously worked as a cook at the Ohio Valley Health Care and volunteered at Camden Clark Hospital as a newspaper distributor. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Parkersburg. Irene is survived by a daughter, Janet Buchanan of Charleston, W.Va.; a son, Rev. Gene Sheppard (Kay) of Follansbee, W.Va.; one brother Charles “Buddy” Sinnett of Ohio; and eight grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Steve, Amy, Susan, David, Bryan, and Karla. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale L. Sheppard; sons, Dennis and Ray Sheppard; brothers, James and Thurman Benear; and two sisters, Goldie Titus, and Virginia Richards. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with her son, Rev. Gene Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
