Helen M. Huff, 75, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away October 19, 2011, at the Willows Center, following a brief but courageously fought illness.She was born October 24, 1935, in Wirt Co., W.Va., a daughter of the late Bartell Monroe and Madge Merrill Hodgen. Helen was a homemaker and especially enjoyed sewing and working with the elderly. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 14, Bethany White Shrine #4 and Daughters of the Nile.She is survived by one daughter, Debra (Charles) Shinn of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; step-children, Charles W. (Susan) Huff of Ill., Cathy (Dave) King of Ariz., Christopher (Kathy) Huff of Ill., Cindy Hamilton of N.C. and Curtis (Tonya) Huff of Ill.; brothers and sisters, Grace (Delmar) Nutt of Portfield, Ohio, Macel (Charles) Hennen of Newark, W.Va., W. M. Morris (Kay) Monroe of Canton, Ohio, Gail (Mary Ann) Hodgen of Elizabeth, W.Va. and Doris Jean (Jim) Mehl of Parkersburg, W.Va.; 12 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; eight nieces; seven nephews; several great-nieces and nephews, including one special great-niece, Missy Canterbury of Palestine, W.Va.; and a special friend, Bob Miihlbach of Parkersburg, W.Va.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Huff; and one sister.Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Hill Grove Cemetery #2 in Wirt County, W.Va., with Pastor Mark Watkins officiating. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. is assisting the family with arrangements.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. M.K.
