Date and Time of Service: Sat., July 31, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. – Southposted 7/29/2010 at 12:25:10 PMHazel Virginia Bell Walcutt, 86, of Parkersburg, passed away July 29, 2010 at her residence.She was born October 15, 1923, in Oil Rock, W.Va., Wirt County, a daughter of the late Francis H. and Bessie Cox Bell.Hazel was a 1941 graduate of Wirt County High School, a life member of the Two Ripple Baptist Church in Wirt County, and last attended Calvary Community Church of Belpre. During World War II she worked at G.E. Aircraft in Akron, Ohio as a “Rosie the Riveter”. She enjoyed her family, gospel music, church, the West Virginia mountains, especially trout fishing. She also loved western TV shows and movies, and the WVU Mountaineers.She is survived by two daughters, Sue Fleak of Parkersburg and Patricia Lydon (James) of Elizabeth, W.Va.; three sons, Terry Walcutt (Cynthia) of Ravenswood, W.Va., Larry Walcutt (Sandra) of Mineral Wells, W.Va., and Gary Walcutt (Byrine) of Washington, W.Va.; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rhoda Trippett of Parkersburg and Gladys LaDeaux of Palestine, W.Va.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Forrest W. “Joe” Walcutt; one son, Michael B. Walcutt; and one brother, Ray Bell.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Kenneth Fullerton officiating. Interment will be at the K. of P. Cemetery in Elizabeth. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
