Harry D. Sprouse, Jr. , 55 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital St. Joseph's Campus.He was born February 22, 1957 in Parkersburg, son of the late Harry D. and Lowilla Sprouse. He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School class of 1975, where he played Big Red Football. Harry served his country proudly in the United States Navy. Harry worked for 24 years at Schott the former Corning Glass until its closing. He was a member of the American Flint Glass Workers Local 570 Union.Harry is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Swisher Sprouse; his step-son, Matt Mahaney (Joanie) of Vienna, W.Va.; beloved grandson, Shamus of Vienna, W.Va.; sisters, Louise Fleming (Phil) of Vienna, W.Va., Rita Hickman (Lee) of Vienna, W.Va., Ruth Ann Mulinex of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Rose Roberts of Vienna;, W.Va. brothers, David Sprouse (Lori) of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Frank Sprouse (Pat) of Little Hocking, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Sprouse.Harry enjoyed the great outdoors, feeding his critters, fishing, hunting, camping and spending any time he could with his grandson, Shamus. Harry loved his WVU Mountaineers, was a great sports fan. Anyone who was privileged to know Harry loved him.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Rev. Bill Brown and Rev. Dennis Pratt officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen South Cemetery with full military rites by the American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
