Gretta Irene Saunders

Gretta I. Stewart Saunders, 92, of Vienna, W.Va., died September 16, 2013, at Emeritus of Marietta, Ohio.The daughter of C. Rupert and Helen (Campbell) Stewart, wife of A. Paul Saunders, mother of two, grandmother of four, great-grandmother of four, was the prayer warrior of her family and will be greatly missed.Mrs. Saunders retired from Ohio Valley (now United) Bank in 1982 after 18 years of service. A Baptist by faith, she was a former member of North Parkersburg Baptist Church and also worshipped at Fellowship and Fairlawn Baptist churches.She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; her husband, Paul Saunders; and a grandson, Bryan Whited.Mrs. Saunders is survived by two children and their families: Sue Whited (Richard) of Washington, W.Va. and Steven P. Saunders (Pam) of Vienna, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Ric Whited of Norfolk, VA, Adam Saunders (Leigh Ann) of Ballston Lake, NY, and Shannon Hartshorn (Dave) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and four great-grandchildren, Chase Waybright, Logan Hartshorn, Taylor and Bailey Saunders.Visitation will be Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Evergreen North Cemetery in Parkersburg.Our thanks be to God for answered prayers on her behalf.
