Glenn R. Morris Sr. , 61, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011 at his home.He was born July 9, 1950, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late Clement and Mary (Roth) Morris.Glenn became the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Morris Sales/Hospital Shoppe, the family owned medical equipment company, when his father passed away in 1981. He remained CEO until his death and passed the family business on to Glenn Jr. and his wife Margie.He had been an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), volunteered for Hospice, helped with Easter Seals Festival of Trees and was a board member for the Holiday in the Park Festival.He and Dave Short of Mountaineer Restaurant had the wood Nativity displayed in the park at Christmas time. He enjoyed camping and playing his guitar. He had been a member of the Rollin Oldies Car Club and still loved to drive his 1970 Chevelle until he became too weak to push the clutch.He attended Bethany United Methodist Church with his mother, Mary and his Aunt, Genny Cross. He at times went to church with his wife, Nancy, at Grace Gospel Church in Pettyville, W.Va.He is survived by his wife of 41 years and high school sweetheart, Nancy (Smarr), both graduates of PHS class of 1969; their three children, Glenn Morris Jr. and wife, Margaret “Margie” of Parkersburg, W.Va. and their children, Cameron and Jennifer; Jeffrey and Michelle (Blair) Morris of Fort Wayne, IN and their children, Julianna, Abigail, Braden and Kayleigh; Laura Daniel and her husband, Andrew of Parkersburg, W.Va. and their children Hunter, Alexander and Dalton; one sister, Margaret “Peggy” Allen of Parkersburg, W.Va.He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Lee Morris and his wife, Yoshie (Yumi).Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Mike Broadwater and Pastor Jeffrey Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to Coats for the Homeless Mission at Grace Gospel Church, 6239 Pike St., Parkersburg, WV26101.
