An online video tribute to Jerry will be available April 9 after 3:00 PM. on this website.Gerald (Jerry) Ray Givens, 81, of Vienna, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 31, 2011.He was born December 24, 1929 in Wirt County, W.Va. the son of the late Roy J. and Claudia Givens.A hard working entrepreneur, he was involved in several businesses in Vienna including Dairy Queen, Quality Burger, Quality Pizza, and Quality Builders, which built over 50 homes and commercial buildings.He also served on the Vienna City Council and was involved with the Lions Club.He was a 50 plus year member of Wayside United Methodist Church.Jerry was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, Class of 1948.He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jo Ann; one son, Randy (Ada Garrison) of Vienna; one sister, Dene Leach of Vienna; a loving extended family and many wonderful friends; and his little buddy Lexi.He will be missed!A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna, Saturday, April 9, 2011, with Rev. Sandy Runion and Rev. Pat Kerr officiating. Family and friends may gather from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.In his honor, memorial contributions may be made to the Wayside United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3001 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va. 26105.
