Gedney Elizabeth Buchanan

Gedney Elizabeth Buchanan, 90, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus, Parkersburg, W.Va.She was born March 19, 1921, in Roane County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Clarence C. and Elsie Burke Boggs. Gedney was a homemaker and a member of the 14th Ave. Gospel Mission Church.She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Smith and Virginia Nicholson, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one son, Harvey Buchanan, of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two grandsons, Daniel Fauxsmith and his wife, Jennifer, and Steven Smith; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Nicholson; one sister, Dolly Wright and her husband, Bill, of Spencer, W.Va., and one sister-in-law, Opal Boggs, of Magadore, Ohio.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy M. Buchanan; three brothers, Rex Boggs, Woodrow Boggs and Clarence Boggs, Jr.; two sisters, Dorothy Boggs and Mabel Stone; two half-brothers, James Boggs and Herbert Daugherty; and three half-sisters, Beulah Miller, Bessie Crawford and Velma Buchanan.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, W.Va. with Reverend Bill Law and Reverend Tim Burch officiating.Services will conclude with interment in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at the funeral home.
