Freda Ann Newman

Freda Ann Newman, 72, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Belpre, passed away November 7, 2011 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus.She was born January 5, 1939 in Belpre, Ohio, a daughter of the late William M. Harrington and Loretta Powell Harrington.She was raised by Helmer and Vivian Chapman and grew up in Belpre.Freda was a homemaker and enjoyed making crafts; she was a Protestant by Faith.She is survived by her longtime caregiver who she called a sister, Beth Shotts of Indiana; three she called brothers, Tom Chapman (Doris) of Belpre, Ohio, Bernard Chapman (Judy) of Belpre, Ohio, and Rye Chapman (Linda) of Florida; and several cousins.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lovear Newman and one brother Tommy Harrington.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 1305 Washington Blvd. Belpre, Ohio with Reverend Paul McGuire officiating. Interment will follow at the Rockland Cemetery in Belpre. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
