Francis Eugene Tanner

Francis Eugene “Gene” Tanner Jr., 62, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on March 30, 2013 at his residence.He was born December 18, 1950, in Tazwell, Va., a son of the late Francis E. and Ruth M. York Tanner.Gene was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Corning Glass (Schott) after 28 years of service as a Production Supervisor. He enjoyed spending time with his best friends, Knight and Angel, his dogs and watching Law and Order. He loved the outdoors, hunting, shooting guns and working on and customizing vehicles.He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn “Kitty” Cheuvront (Joe) of Elizabeth, W.Va.; two sons, Justin Tanner of Lexington, Ky. and Dillon Tanner of Parkersburg, W.Va.; his best friend and longtime companion, Diane Stephens of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one brother, Allen Tanner (Vicky) of Walker, W.Va.; and two grandchildren, Ashton and Aiden Cheuvront.Honoring Gene's request, there will be no services or visitation. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services will be assisting the family with arrangements.
