Frances E. Morris

Frances E. Morris, 86, of Parkersburg, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025 at her residence. She was born October 21, 1938 in Elizabeth, a daughter to the late Roscoe E. and Rachel E. Grady Knight.

She grew up on a farm in Slate, WV and attended a one room school house until attending Parkesburg High School. She retired from Walmart after 17 years of service. She attended Christ Mission Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years, her joy was sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with children. She loved to garden both flowers and vegetables, babysitting children, spending time with and baking for her family, especially her brothers and sisters, with whom she was very close.

Left to cherish her memory include her son, Tony E. Morris (Lisa) of Fairmont; sisters, Jean L. Shaffer of Mineral Wells, Shirley M. West and Susie Stull (Dave) of Parkersburg, Alza M. Duckworth of Slate, WV, and Irene Sleath (Bill) of Virginia; her brother, Royal E. Knight (Lana) of California; grandchildren, Courtney Neidig Marinho, Jordan Neidig, and Laura Morris Steele; great-grandchildren, Rachelle and Mo Marinho, and Elias and Grace Steele; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William F. Morris and their daughter, Tina Marie Neidig; her sister, Carolyn Gilmore; and brothers, Charles and Aaron Knight.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., South Parkersburg. A Gathering of friends and family will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
