Flora Mae Harper

Flora Mae Harper, 88, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on June 13, 2012 at her residence.She was born May 10, 1924, in Wirt County, W.Va., a daughter of Charles Cleveland and Cigal Cox Sheppard.Flora retired from Camden Clark Memorial Hospital as a unit clerk. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, flowers, birds and reading.She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Pack of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Karen (Bobby) Mathews of Scottsville, Ky.; one son, Steve Harper of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three sisters, Joann Fulton of Conway, S.C., Wanda McCoy of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Mary Lou Wyrick of Stewart, Fla.; one brother, Jim Sheppard of Wirt County, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Harper; a son, Joe Harper; a daughter, Priscilla Newbanks; five brothers; three sisters; and a grandchild.Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Rev. Erik Nielsen officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home.
