Evelyn Mary States, 98 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Pineview Nursing Facility, Harrisville, W.Va.She was born March 14, 1916 in Ritchie County, W.Va., a daughter of the late John W. and Maggie Shingleton Jameson of Pike, WV.She was married to Carl Codar States in November 1936.During the WW II she worked at RCA Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio. Evelyn had previously worked at the American Viscose and Yonkers Manufacturing Company in Parkersburg. She was a member of the Beechwood Presbyterian Church and the Ladies Auxillary and was a former member of the Ladies Auxillary of Pipefitters Local 149.Evelyn enjoyed making crafts like ceramics, crocheting, decorating cakes, and making candy.She is survived by her niece and nephew, David and Ruth Hogue of Pennsboro, W.Va.; several other nieces and nephews; and her special dog, Buttons.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Codar States; one sister, Mildred Noland; and two brothers, Archie and John Jameson.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Rick Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Finch, WV. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
