Eugene “Gene” Dickson Hart, 83 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away April 20, 2011 at his residence. He was born April 27, 1928 in Parkersburg a son of the late Russel Webster and Bonnie Evelyn Sims Hart. He was employed for 36 years as a boiler operator, bus driver and supervisor of plumbing with the Board of Education until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg, the DAV of America and received a Certificate of Honor from the Veterans Memorial. He was President of the Belleville Hunt club, a Bench Show Judge, and his greatest joy was coon hunting.He was a member of the Apostolic United Pentecostal Church where he was baptized and received the Holy Ghost in 1953. He is survived by his wife, Mary Isabelle Reynolds Hart; daughters, Dianne Gimpl and Suzanne Morann both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; son, Russell L. Hart of Waverly, W.Va.; sister, Leila Carpenter of Vienna, W.Va.; grandchildren, Stephen Erickson and wife, Jill, Angie Erickson, Bill Morann and wife, Chi all of St. Paul, Minnesota; and Leon Hart of Parkersburg, W.Va.; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald L. Hart. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Christian Life Center, 6th Ave. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Keith Mendenhall, Rondel Moss, and Pasi Sikio officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery with full military rites by the American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday Christian Life Center and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
