Virginia Clegg, 85, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away peacefully Monday, May 23, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.She was born Thursday, September 10, 1925 in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Lory Frank and Blanche E. Koehnlein Brafford.Virginia was a 1943 graduate of Parkersburg High School and was retired from Misty Mfg. with 24 years of service.She was a member of the Walnut St. Church of Christ in Belpre, Ohio.She will be remembered for her love of life and spirited laughter.She is survived by her daughter, Sally L. (Bob) Shipley of Parkersburg, W.Va.; her son, Dennis M. (Sue) Clegg of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three grandchildren, James “Mel” (Rachel) Shipley and Jill D. (Matt) Lewellyn, all of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Phillip E. Shipley of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, James Garrett Shipley and Lucas T. and Jennessa L. Lewellyn; a sister, Ruth (Don) Seevers of Portsmouth, Ohio; a brother, Lory F. (Bonnie) Brafford, Jr. of Gretna, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clement C. “Ted” Clegg; a grandson, John T. Shipley; and a sister, Betty Roberts.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, W.Va. with Evangelists Lory Brafford and Don Seevers officiating.Burial will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
