Ernest Tanner, Jr., best known as June to family and friends, left this life on November 4, 2011 at the age of 82.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Tanner and Ruth Wilson Tanner, and two sisters Fay Davidson and Nora McVey.He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Beall Tanner, three children, Jerry Tanner of Boaz, W.Va., Donna Goeke and Patty Hitt both of Houston, TX, by three grandchildren Wyatt Tanner, Nick Hoschar and Amanda Wilson and by 3 great-grand children, Cameron Hoschar, Megyn Hoschar and Ashlee Wilson. He is also survived by two sisters, Beaulah Lane and Ruth Tanner and three brothers, Virgil, Eugene and Don Tanner.June was a member of Murphytown Baptist Church. He joined the Parkersburg Masonic Lodge #169 where he worked his way up to the high honor of 32nd Degree Mason. Shortly thereafter he joined the Nemesis Shrine of Parkersburg. He's also a past Colonel of the Nemesis Shrine Motor Corp. June also enjoyed outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing. He was past President of WV Archery Association.June lived a long, full life where he worked hard for his family and enjoyed spending time with his friends. He is forever missed.There will be a graveside prayer service at Bethel Cemetery on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 2:00 pm.God Bless, June, we miss you.
