Elsa Leon Cain, 86, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away June 2, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Smithville, W.Va., a daughter of the late William E. and Clara Mills Prince. She worked in the Akron, Ohio area at plants supplying materials for the war effort during World War II. Later she was a homemaker and had worked as a waitress at Seddons Restaurant. Elsa and her husband owned and raced greyhound dogs and rescued retired greyhound racing dogs. She was a member of Chapter No. 14 of the Eastern Star and a member of Smithville United Methodist Church.She is survived by four sisters, Edith Phillips (Calvin) of Harrisville, W.Va., Betty Fortney of Belpre, Ohio, Virginia Gardner (Kenneth Sr.) of Smithville, W.Va., and Lottie Belle Shaffer (Donald) of Ellenboro, W.Va.; a brother, William E. Prince Jr. of Beverly, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog, Rachel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Cain in 1991; and a sister, Lorene Madeline Prince.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, W.Va. with Rev. Sandy Runnion officiating. Burial will follow at Westfall Cemetery in Smithville, W.Va. Visitation will be Wednesday from Noon until time of services at the funeral home.
