Eileen Jean Buffington

Eileen Jean Buffington, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011, at her residence.She was born August 31, 1937, in Ravenswood, W.Va., a daughter of the late Wilford Perry and Mary Louise Harris Allman.Eileen was a graduate of Ravenswood High School with the class of 1955. She worked as a sales associate at several retail stores in the Grand Central Mall including Dils Department Store and she worked at The Diamond in the cosmetic department. She enjoyed reading and quilting and shared her creative gifts with many of her children and grandchildren. She also loved to go to yard sales.She is survived by her husband, Edward “Gene” Buffington, whom she married August 24, 1963; two daughters, Marianna (Donnie) Miller and Crystal (Larry) Buck, both of Belpre, Ohio; three sons, Joseph Hurstof North Carolina, Edward (Kimberly) Buffington of Waverly, W.Va. and Perry (Mandy) Buffington of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Marlene Miller and Donna (Bob) Galland, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Johnnie (Faye) Allman and Brady (Barb) Allman of Ravenswood, W.Va.; four granddaughters, Kerry, Angie, Aubree and Faith; five grandsons, D.J., Chad, Ryan, Perry Jr. and Zach; three great-grandchildren, Allie, Kaylie and Dalton; and several good friends, including Lora Ellis, Dorothy Dern and Candy Merrill.Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Loyd Winans officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday,at the funeral home.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice and Marietta Memorial Strecker Center at Belpre, Ohio for their care of Eileen.
